Last year artist Lee Moyer, with the help of author Patrick Rothfuss, created a pin-up style calendar of classic literary works. This year he wanted to try something different using the fantasy stories of modern day authors. The pin-ups will be based on novels by George R.R. Martin, Terry Pratchett, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, Jacqueline Carey, Charlaine Harris and more. Even Neil Gaiman and his musician wife: Amanda Palmer, who modeled for one of the paintings, got involved. Profits from the calendar will go to the charity founded by Patrick Rothfuss: Worldbuilders.
Several of the authors got closely involved in the creation of the pin-ups, Jim Butcher and Patricia Briggs both suggesting specific looks for their designs. Other authors like Martin and Pratchett simply signed off after Lee sent several concepts to them. You can get a peak at some of the images here:
